operacije i za plastičnu hirurgiju

Knežević. – Dolaze samostalno,
preko specijalizovanih sajtova
i preporuka. Ponekad ih šalju
državni fondovi zdravstvenih
osiguranja drugih zemalja, koje
nemaju stručnjake za određene
specifične, komplikovane opera-
cije. Neke zemlje šalju pacijente
zbog uštede.
Po njenom mišljenju, do
značajnog razvoja ovog sektora
neće doći sve dok država ne
prepozna privatni sektor kao
partnera i kao mogući generator
razvoja, ne samo turizma. Pored
promene zakonske regulative,
na institucionalnom i državnom
nivou, potrebno je da se donese
jasna marketinška strategija
razvoja. Dr Knežević primećuje
da za sada ne postoji ni podrška
turističkih agencija.

– Currently, patients from
abroad primarily come for urological
surgery, both on children and adults,
eye surgery, artificial insemination,
orthopaedic operations, plastic
surgery and dental work – explains
Dr Knežević. – They come on their
own, through specialised websites
and on the basis of recommenda-
tions. Sometimes they’re sent by
state health insurance funds, because
they lack certain experts for specific,
complex surgeries. Some countries
send patients here as a cost-saving
measure.
She believes that this sector will
remain underdeveloped as long as the
state refuses to recognise the private
sector as a partner and possible en-
gine of development, not just for tour-
ism. Aside from changing regulations
at the institutional and national levels,
the government needs to implement a
clear marketing strategy for develop-
ment, says Dr Knežević, noting that
not even tourist agencies receive the
support they need.
