u svitanje imate dve opcije,
domaći burek
(Svetogorska
38), ili
dobar somun
sa deli-
kates ćevapima (ćevabdžinica
Sarajevski, Cara Dušana 32).
Beograd je mesto kome
zauvek pripadate, ako se samo
jednom usudite da ga doživite.
Hvala vam što ste bili gosti
mog grada.
Vidimo se ponovo, jer ste
nam uvek dobrodošli.
e
Welcome to Belgrade!
The blending of the tradi-
tional and the new, rich tastes
and precious scents, friendly
and hospitable gestures and
touches, ensure Belgrade
attracts its inhabitants at
first glance, again and again
conquering citizens
and guests alike, while
patiently awaiting those
who have yet to discover
its significance and specificity.
If you want to familiarise
yourself with the spirit and
tradition of the country in the
best possible way, an unavoid-
able destination is
Kalenić
Market
. Rich in colours and
the scents of spices, with fresh
produce that you can try im-
mediately, straight from the
stalls, a great challenge is
presented by homemade curd
cream and fresh, warm bread
cakes from the neighbouring
bakeries.
First coffee of the morn-
ing? Drop in at
Pržionica
and enjoy the smell of freshly
ground coffee.
After that you can take
a walk through Kalemegdan
Park, including a tour of the
Belgrade Zoo, which occupies
part of the fortress.
Then head down to the
Savamala Creative District,
situated beside the newly
renovated Geozavod building
and en route don’t miss out on
a visit to Bosiljčić, the city’s
oldest sweet shop – where you
can sample freshly prepared
Turkish delight.
Belgrade proudly high-
lights the local scene of young
and renowned designers.
Browse the boutiques of the
Dorćol area’s Kralja Petra
Street and pick an authentic
item of clothing or jewellery
at the
Supermarket Concept
Store
. Other good choices
include
Mikser House
and the
Choomich Design District
.
Belgradians are experts at
enjoying food and are loyal to
tradition. Lunch is an impor-
tant part of that tradition and,
of course, is not skipped. We
recommend the newly opened
Manufaktura
restaurant
in the very heart of the city
centre, the little taste factory,
Mala fabrika ukusa
, Asian
mix lounge
W Sushi
, Zemun’s
Saloon 5
or
2.0 Dijagonala
– an indescribable venue that
awakens the senses in you and
is ideal for an evening’s enter-
tainment.
In order to cope with the
deceptive March sun, and
while you await spring, head
to FEST, an international
film festival that runs until
8
th
March, when you should
come to a special edition of
the Mixer Kids market to mark
international women’s day,
“Mom, I love you”, while on
10
th
March you can enjoy the
concert George Dalaras at the
Sava Centre. The Belgrade
DJ collective, Vatra, will
also celebrate its
fourth birthday at
the Belexpo centre
on 14
th
March. In
addition to the standard hot
atmosphere, the boys will host
a special, amazing guest in
the form of AraabMuzik. Then
there is “Catch the Light”, the
12
th
Belgrade Dance Festival,
which runs from 23
rd
March to
9
th
April and intertwines new
and iconic dance pieces, host-
ing a number of ballet stars
and young artists.
The evening reveals liv-
ing cult kafana inns as places
to go. The Bohemian quarter
of Skadarlija, with its kafana
inns – amongst which we this
time recommend for you
Dva
jelena
(Two Deer) and
Tri
šešira
(Three Hats) – has man-
aged to preserve its distinctive
old look and spirit. Among
the more modern kafana inns
that will attract your atten-
tion are
Tika’s
,
Talas
(Wave),
Kovač
(Smith) and
Šaran
(Carp). However, if
your choice of evening
venue is a bar, there is
D bar
with the obliga-
tory local “cabinet” beer,
OUR
Bar
or the newly opened
Đura
Bar
, as well as the
Bistro du
Vin
, to sample wines from the
Zvonko Bogdan Winery.
The choice of international
restaurants at Beton Hala can
compete with all world capitals
when it comes to the selection
of Asian to Italian speciali-
ties, including
Sakura
,
Druga
Piazza
and
Frida de Cantina
,
as well as the phenom-
enal
Toro Latin Gastrobar
.
Authentic winter nightclubs
Radionica
,
Dot
,
Mladost
Ludost Radost
,
Brankow
,
Krug
,
KC Grad
,
Casina
and
Baraka
, are filled with positive
vibrations, charm and unique
entertainment. The new cult
venues of the Savamala circuit,
which dominates Belgrade
nightlife, are:
Ben Akiba
Comedy Club
&
Bar,Tranzit
,
Klub
100
and the brewery pub
Berliner
.
Complete your night out
like a true Belgradians: for a
good bite to eat at dawn you
have two options: homemade
burek (Svetogorska Street 38),
or good flat bread with deli-
cacy ćevapi grilled meat sticks
(ćevabdžinica Sarajevski, Cara
Dušana Street 32).
Belgrade is a place where
you’ll always belong, if you
only once dare experience it.
Thank you for being guests
of my city and I believe you
will take valuable and intense
memories away with you.
See you again, because
