ošlo je vreme da se promeni koncept minibara
u hotelskim sobama. Gostima je dosadilo da
plaćaju visoke cene za pića iz malih frižidera,
tvrdi jedno od najviše citiranih istraživanja u hoteli-
jerstvu poslednjih godina. Rezultati do kojih je prošle
godine došao TripAdvisor, Internet sajt specijalizo-
van za putovanja, pokazali su da je minibar najnepo-
pularnija usluga, a besplatan Internet najcenjenija
među gostima.
U javnosti se brzopleto proširio zaključak da,
posle tačno četrdeset godina postojanja, hotelski
minibar umire. Ispostavlja se da je to daleko od istine.
Hoteli se ne odriču „zlatne koke“ koja je tolike godine
stvarala velike profite, na račun gostiju koji rado kon-
zumiraju alkoholna pića u sopstvenoj privatnosti.
Ipak, minibar se u poslednjih godinu dana prila-
gođava novim trendovima i prolazi kroz velike trans-
formacije. Hotelijeri razmišljaju u nekoliko pravaca,
a svi se svode na modernizaciju sadržaja frižidera, ali
niko ne namerava da ih izbaci iz soba.
Putnici čeznu da osete lokalne ukuse, ne bi li sa
svakog putovanja sačuvali neki autentični utisak. Po-
jedini hoteli tu potrebu materijalizuju preko minibara:
pune ga lokalnim proizvodima – najviše se troše lo-
kalna piva ili jača alkoholna pića iz okolnih destilerija.
Od hrane, u modi su „domaći“ i „organski“ proizvodi.
Ova praksa mogla bi dodatno da doprinese
promociji lokalnih ekonomija, naročito u manjim
zemljama u kojima postoji razvijena kultura domaćih
ukusa. Koji stanac bi u Srbiji mogao da odoli, na
primer, maloj teglici ajvara iz minibara, makar da je
ponese kući kad ne stigne da kupi suvenir?

vent the minibar. Guests are tired of
paying high prices for drinks from
small fridges, claims one of the
most-cited surveys conducted in
the field of hotel management. The
findings of the survey, carried out
by Trip Advisor, the world’s biggest
tourism website, show that the
minibar was the least-popular hotel
service, while free internet received
the highest marks.
The pubic hastily declared that,
exactly forty years after its creation,
the hotel minibar is dying. It turns
out that this is far from the truth, as
hotels are not keen on relinquishing
a service that has generated large
profits from guests who happily
consume alcoholic beverages in the
privacy of their room.
Nevertheless, the minibar
has recently started adapting to
new tendencies and has been
going through changes. Hotel
managers have different ideas
about modernising the contents
of the minibar, but nobody is
thinking about removing them
from rooms.
Travellers yearn to experience
local flavours that enable them to
have an authentic experience on
every trip. Some hotels have taken
note of that need in redefining
the minibar: filling it with local
products - the most popular of
which are local beers or stronger
drinks from nearby distilleries.
When it comes to food, “home-
made” and “organic” are the words
of the day.
This practice could contribute
additionally to the promotion of
local economies, particularly in
smaller countries with a developed
culture of local flavours. Which
tourist in Serbia could resist, for
example, a jar of ajvar from the
minibar - as an interesting souvenir,
if nothing else?

experiencing a rennaissance - as a way to promote local
economies. By offering local food and drinks, hotel manag-
ers have tried to increase income from the in-room refrig-
erators that used to be much more profitable.
