we’re pioneers and this is
unknown to us too. The hotel
is part of Porto Montenegro,
Regent is the core here. And,
you know, clients who arrive
on yachts represent the profile
of our guests worldwide.
Regent Porto Montene-
gro is not the kind of hotel
you would visit for your long
summer holiday. This is a
place for a quick and total
break, switching off from
everyday life, in peace and
relaxation; a place where you
can indulge your senses and
quickly renew your energy.
The well-equipped spa centre
offers various treatments.
Guests who love to shop,
and are sometimes able to
afford themselves that kind of
activity, will be delighted to
find that Porto Montenegro is
the only place in the former
Yugoslavia where certain
highly prestigious global
fashion houses have opened
retail outlets. Like Dolce &
Gabbana, for example. For
those who do not arrive on
yachts, the hotel is just as
easily accessible. Tivat’s inter-
national airport is connected
via Belgrade with the whole
world on a daily basis, and is
located just a few kilometres
from the hotel.
However, the hotel could
prospectively in the future
become an exclusive meeting
place for lovers of first-class
food. The cuisine is excel-
lent, and in Montenegro and
neighbouring Mediterranean
countries there are many
small, elite producers of
organic food, which the Re-
gent has lasting links with to
acquire the best ingredients.
During our short stay, the
hotel procured fresh truffles
from Istria in Croatia, which
meant guests were prepared a
six-course dinner with dishes
containing black and white
truffles, and served with re-
gional wines from Montene-
gro, Serbia, Croatia and Mace-
donia. The restaurant was full.
Around the tables one could
mostly hear English and
French, while the charming
waiters created such a relaxed
atmosphere, communicat-
ing freely but unobtrusively
with all the guests, that the
evening turned into a proper
little unexpected experience.
The culmination was ac-
companied by live jazz in the
hotel’s Library Bar, along with
a very elegant version of the
cocktail Angel’s Face, by the
local bartender, who left the
impression of a refined young
man, just like the impression
left by the hotel as a whole.
