KOŠARKAŠKA PORODICA
Svima koji poznaju porodicu Dabović bilo je prirodno kada je
Ana zaigrala košarku. Otac Milan je trenutno trener ženskog
tima Vojvodine iz Novog Sada, starija sestra Milica igra u fran-
cuskom Lionu, a najstarija sestra Jelica i brat Milan takođe su
se bavili košarkom.
– To što sam najmlađe dete u porodici pomoglo mi je i u životu
i u karijeri – ističe Ana. – Posebno jer su se sve četvoro starijih
pre mene bavili istim sportom, tako da sam od svih njih dobila
ponešto, a košarka je od rođenja bila moj prirodni ambijent.

BASKETBALL FAMILY
To all those who know the Dabović family, it was completely
natural when Ana chose to play basketball. Her father Milan is
the current coach of women’s club Vojvodina from Novi Sad,
while her older sister, Milica, plays at French club Lyon and her
eldest sister, Jelica, and brother Milan also played basketball.
- The fact that I’m the youngest in the family helped me in my
life and my career – says Ana – particularly because all four of
them played the same sport before I did, so I gained some-
thing from all of them, and basketball has been my natural
environment since birth.

The Dabović sisters are each other’s greatest support in

season starts on 5

- My new coach, Brian
Agler, has vast experience with
European players, so he showed
understanding in making
allowances for my obligations
towards the national team
– explains Dabović. – I also
suggested a plan to him about
how to make up for that initial
backlog.
Until then, Ana is giving
her all in the shirt of Turkish
club Ormanspor, where she
has played since last summer.
As for the Sparks, she hopes
she will be able to win the
world title with her future club.
She believes that the WNBA
League will be a totally new
experience in an environment
that is partially known to her.
- I will play at the Sparks
with Kristi Toliver, who I played
with at Dynamo Moscow last
season – notes Ana happily.
– That’s another good thing
about my new team; Kristi and I
play well together.
Ana receives her great-
est support from elder sister
Milica, who she has played
alongside in the national team
for many years. Milica is seven
years Ana’s senior, but that’s
not noticeable on the court.
- Age is not so important –
considers Ana, describing her
sister. – Milica is so well pre-
pared and in training. I enjoy
playing together with her for
the national team and I hope
our fans enjoy themselves too.
Basketball is certainly the
dominant factor in her life and
she plans to remain in the sport
when the time comes to end her
career, albeit in a different way
than many would expect.
- My wish is to become a
motivational speaker – says
Dabović. – That’s the only way
I would remain part of the
basketball world. In that way I
could help many teams and ath-
letes, passing on the knowledge
and experience I have gained,
thanks primarily to the way I
think.
