zgama s lokalnom i internacionalnom hranom i pićem. Tavanicu
u Holandiji:
Rog izobilja
, rad Arnoa Koenena, predstavlja nebeski
učestvuje u pozitivnim promenama i oblikovanju urbane životne
i radne sredine .

Rejuvenation
Last October Queen Máxima opened the Markthal, a key
event in the modern regeneration of the city. The arched market
hall and apartment building is open seven days a week, drawing
gourmets to snack and shop at stalls selling local as well as
international food and drink. The hall’s ceiling and walls bear
the biggest artwork in the Netherlands, over an area consisting
of around 4,500 panels, each 1.5 metres square.
Horn of Plenty
,
by Arno Coenen, features a sunlit sky from which fresh produce
tumbles. The colourful, computer-generated scene is rendered
from 400,000 megapixels.
Another symbolic moment in Rotterdam’s rejuvenation took
place on 20 June, with the official opening of the Luchtsingel,
a pedestrian bridge linking the city’s northern districts with
the central station. Fittingly, it was opened on the city’s Day of
Architecture. Kristian Koreman came up with the idea of the 390
metre structure, which was partially financed through crowd-
funding. Individuals and businesses donated €25 per plank.
Koreman’s architectural bureau also helped foster a concept
that’s been dubbed ‘neo-localism’, in which community involve-
ment helps realise positive social change and shapes an urban
environment in which people live and are active.
