Muzeji

U gradskom Parku muzeja smešteni su izvan-

redni umetnički muzeji Kunsthal i Muzej Boijmans

Van Beningen, gde možete videti dela slavnih

umetnika od Hijeronimusa Boša do Vinsenta van

Goga. Poklonici arhitekture takođe mogu videti

mnogo toga, uključujući Novi institut, u kome se

redovno smenjuju postavke i pod čijom je upra-

vom obližnja Kuća Soneveld, koja predstavlja do-

bro očuvani primer graditeljskog stila holandskog

funkcionalizma, iz 1930-tih godina.

e

Museums

The city’s Museumpark has outstanding art

museums in the Kunsthal and Museum Boijmans

Van Beuningen, where you can see works by

artists such as Hieronymus Bosch to Vincent van

Gogh. For aficionados of architecture there’s also

much to see in Rotterdam, including the New In-

stitute, which hosts regularly changing temporary

exhibitions and manages the nearby Sonneveld

House, a well-preserved example of a Dutch

Functionalist domestic building from the 1930s.

Roterdam

je poslednjih

godina doživeo temeljni

preobražaj. Desetak godina

unazad nije bilo preporučljivo

zalaziti noću u zapušteni

centrar grada iškraban

grafitima. Danas je u to teško

poverovati dok šetate uli-

cama obnovljenog gradskog

jezgra čija smela i moderna

arhitektura posetiocima nudi

znatno drugačiji prizor od pre-

poznatljivih zgrada od opeke

u centralnom Amsterdamu.

Bez ikakve sumnje,

Roterdam

je postao izuzetno povo-

ljna destinacija za vikend

odmor

. Blistava metalizirana

fasada centralne roterdamske

železničke stanice, otvorene

2014, udaljena je samo 27

minuta putovanja vozom od

međunarodnog aerodroma

Shiphol u Amsterdamu.

e

Downtown Rotterdam

has

undergone marked changes

of fortune and appearance in

recent years. Its once shabby,

graffiti-scarred centre was

deemed a night-time no-go

area a decade or so ago. To-

day that’s difficult to believe

as you wander through the

streets of a resurgent urban

hub whose bold, modern

architecture offers visitors

markedly different scenery

to the famous brick-built

townhouses of central Am-

sterdam.

Make no mistake, Rotterdam

is now very much a viable

destination for a weekend

break.

The shining, metallic

façade of the city’s central

railway station, which opened

in 2014, is just a 27-minute

train journey from the station

beneath Schiphol Amsterdam

International Airport.

Noćni život

Grad nudi i bogat i pristupačan noćni život.

U klubu

Bird

možete slušati džez ili plesati uz

ritmove domaćih ili gostujućih di-džejeva. Dalje

uz ulicu Vite de Vitstrat možete odabrati neki

od uličnih kafea, barova ili restorana. Na rela-

tivno malom rastojanju ponuda je raznovrsna, i

biće vam jasno zbog čega je ovaj deo popularan

i kod domaćeg stanovništva i među turistima.

U restoranu

Ballroom

čeka vas meni sa zadi-

vljujućim izborom sitnih zalogaja i zakuski,

uključujući i

Bitterballen

– pržene mesne okru-

glice u prezlama, koje se tradicionalno umaču

u senf. Ukoliko želite nešto konkretnije, onda je

izbor restoran

Bazar

, čija su kuhinja i živopisni

viseći lampioni poreklom iz Severne Afrike, što

ukazuje na multikulturnu raznovrsnost najveće

luke u Evropi.

e

Nightlife

The city is also a place with hip, accessible

nightlife. At Bird you can experience live jazz or

dance to beats laid by guest and resident DJs.

Head along Witte de Withstraat to take your

choice of the street’s café-bars and dining venues.

Several tastes are catered for within a relatively

short distance, so you’ll soon understand why it’s

popular with locals and visitors alike. At Ballroom

you can browse a menu featuring an impressive

array of gins plus snacks including

Bitterballen,

breadcrumb-coated savouries that are tradition-

ally enjoyed after being dipped in mustard. If

you’re looking for something more substantial

then take a seat in the Restaurant Bazar, whose

cuisine and colourful hanging lamps are North

African in origin and indicative of the multicul-

tural diversity within Europe’s largest port city.
