HOTEL STORČEN (STORCHEN)
Najstariji hotel u Cirihu prvi put se
spominje u poreskim knjigama 1357.
što ga čini starijim od 650 godina. Za
to vreme izgradio je priličnu reputa-
ciju gostoprimljivosti. Jedini je
hotel sa sopstvenim vezom
na reci Limat. Na samom
ulazu u hotel nići ćete
parkiran jedan od najne-
običnijih automobila za Cirih,
lepo očuvan fiat 500 iz 1969. go-
dine. Vlasnica je zaposlena u hotelu,
a tvrdi da je automobil u kome nema
elektronike, već samo mehanički sklo-
povi, najsigurnije prevozno sredstvo
koje retko otkazuje. Savremeni ame-
rički pisac Džon Irvajn (John Irving) u
dva svoja romana opisao je hotel.

This oldest hotel in Zurich was first
mentioned in the tax records of 1357,
making it more than 650 years old.
During this time it has built a conside-
rable reputation for hospitality. It
is the only hotel with its own
berth on the River Limmat
At the very entrance to
the hotel you will see one
of the most unusual cars for
Zurichparked: a beautifully pre-
served 1969 Fiat 500. The car’s owner
is a member of the hotel staff and she
claims the car has no electronics, only
mechanical mechanisms, which ma-
kes it the safest means of transport
that very rarely breaks down. Contem-

Zurich

which all the most impor-
tant places can be toured
on foot or by bike, which
are offered free of charge
for visitors to rent. In the
old part of the city one feels
the charm of a provincial
town, but the size should
not deceive anybody – after
all, it is one of Europe’s rich-
est cities, the banking cap-
ital of Switzerland, a glob-
al banking power. Indeed,
the wealth is visible in the
streets – in terms of the
number of Ferraris, Masera-
tis, Bentleys and similar ex-
pensive four-wheelers, Zu-
rich can only be compared
to Monte Carlo. For those
who do not like to walk Zu-
rich has built a perfect, fast
and efficient transport net-
work. Take a tour and you
won’t get dirty shoes: Zu-
rich is one of the world’s
cleanest cities.
