smo tvrdili da nije neophodna skupa
oprema da bi neko dobro prošao
na takmičenju i, kako je unapređen
kvalitet digitalnih kamera, stižu nam
i neke izuzetne fotografije snimljene
početničkim digitalnim aparatima,
pa čak i kompaktnim kamerama“,
dodaje ona.
Po čemu se sjajna putopisna
fotografija izdvaja iz gomile? „To je
fotografija kojoj poželite da se uvek
iznova vratite. Neke izvanredne pu-
topisne fotografije navešće vas da
poželite da odete na neko mesto, ili
festival ili bilo šta drugo, zbog nekih
drugih se ježite i pomišljate da nika-
da ne biste onamo otišli. Ali sve vas
primoravaju da tragate i razmišljate“,
kaže Karen, koja priznajte da želja
za lutalaštvom obuzme sudije ovog
takmičenja kad vide prikazane scene

actually taking...We’ve always said you
don’t need expensive kit to do well in
TPOTY and, as the quality of digital
cameras has gone up overall, we are
seeing some fabulous images taken
on entry-level digital SLRs or even
compact cameras,” she adds.
So what makes a great travel
photo stand out from the crowd?
“It is one that makes you want to
return to it again and again. Some
great travel photographs make you
want to go to that place, or festival or
whatever, others make you shudder
and think you would never want to
go there. But they all make you keep
looking, and thinking,” says Karen,
who admits the TPOTY judges can
get wanderlust when viewing scenes
