razdvajanja. Tek u tom periodu
se grad, najpre stidljivo, a posle
Drugog svetskog rata intenziv-
no, proširio na leve obale Save
i Dunava. Reke su počele da
spajaju različite delove grada,
izgrađeno je nekoliko mostova,
oživeo je i saobraćaj na njima.
Ipak, najatraktivniji, najlep-
ši i najznačajniji deo desne oba-
le reke Save, od Beogradskog
sajma, pa do Savskog
(Brankovog) mosta, ostao je
neuređen, neurbanizovan, za-
pušten. Ono što bi po prirodi
stvari trebalo da bude ponos,
najlepši deo grada, s vremenom
je postalo njegovo ruglo.
To će uskoro postati stvar
prošlosti.
Na toj, sigurno najelitnijoj,
za gradnju potpuno slobodnoj
lokaciji, ne samo u Beogradu
već u bilo kojoj evropskoj me-
tropoli, na površini od milion
kvadratnih metara, od proleća
2015. planirana je izgradnja
nove gradske celine Beograda
na vodi (Belgrade Waterfront).
Biće to moderan i tehnološki
napredan grad unutar grada,
projektovan po najnovijim svet-
skim standardima održivosti,
sa stambenim i poslovnim pro-
storom, tržnim centrom, hote-
lima, obrazovnim ustanovama
i nizom atraktivnih zabavnih
sadržaja. Moderan arhitekton-
ski stil inspirisan je kulturnim
nasleđem starog Beograda.
Okosnica projekta biće
Kula Beograd, toranj visok 200
metara, sa stambenim jedini-
cama, poslovnim prostorima,
hotelima, krovnom baštom i
vidikovcem. Tržni centar nepo-
sredno uz kulu, sa oko 140.000
kvadratnih metara površine,
Nekada su beogradske
reke predstavljale
granice, linije
razdvajanja kultura i
država. Tek u poslednjih
90 godina spajaju grad.
e
Once upon a time,
the Belgrade rivers
represented borders,
lines separating cultures
and countries. It is only
in the last 90 years that
they have connected
the city.
e
generally shied away from,
and the rivers were not at the
heart of city life. Even the near-
est residential properties, al-
though located some distance
from the river, had their windows
facing in the opposite direction.
It is only in the last 90 years
that Belgrade’s rivers have not
represented borders, lines of di-
vision. And it has only been
during this period that the city
spread, at first shyly, but after
World War II extensively, to the
left banks of both the Sava and
the Danube. The rivers began
connecting different parts of the
city, several bridges were built
and traffic flourished on them.
However, the most attrac-
tive, beautiful and most impor-
tant part of the right bank of
the Sava, from the Belgrade Fair
to the Sava (Brankov) Bridge,
remained disorganized, un-
planned and abandoned. Over
time, what would naturally be
the pride of the city and its
most beautiful part became the
city’s eyesore.
No for much longer.
On this site, surely the most
elite and completely available
for development not only in
Belgrade, but in any major Eu-
ropean city, on an area cover-
ing a million square metres, the
construction of a new city dis-
trict, the Belgrade Waterfront,
is planned to begin from spring
2015. This will be a modern
and technologically advanced
city within a city, built accord-
ing to the latest international
standards of sustainability, with
residential and office space, a
shopping centre, hotels, edu-
cation facilities and a variety
of attractive entertainment op-
tions. The modern architectural
design is inspired by the cultur-
al heritage of old Belgrade.
The backbone of the proj-
ect will be the Belgrade Tow-
er, some 200 metres high and
with residential units, commer-
cial spaces, hotels, a roof garden
and a viewing area. A retail cen-
tre immediately beside the tow-
er, occupying an area of about
140,000 square metres, will be
the largest shopping centre in
the Balkans. A Sava promenade
is also envisaged, covering a
length of 1.8 kilometres,
Zgrada Beogradske zadruge iz 1907. pretvorena je u prodajni i promotivni centar projekta Beograd na vodi.
e
Belgrade Cooperative building from 1907 has been converted into a sales and promotion centre of the Belgrade
Waterfront project.
