Uneskov grad književnosti
Unesko je glavnom gradu Slovenije dodelio trajnu titulu Grad književ-
nosti. To priznanje uvrstilo je Ljubljanu (na snimku) u Uneskovu Mrežu
kreativnih gradova. Grad sa jakom bibliotečkom infrastrukturom i bogat
književnim zbivanjima kao što su Slovenački dani knjige, Biblioteka pod
krošnjama, Sajam knjiga... nudi podršku i razumevanje piscima iz čita-
vog sveta. Ukupno dvadeset svetskih gradova dobilo je do sada tu titulu,
a Ljubljana je jedini iz regiona Jugoistočne Evrope.

UNESCO city of literature
UNESCO has awarded the capital of Slovenia the permanent title of
City of Literature. This recognition places Ljubljana (pictured) among
UNESCO’s network of creative cities. The city has a strong library infra-
structure and rich literary events, such as the Slovenian Book Days, the
Library under the Treetops, the annual Book Fair etc., offering support
and understanding for writers from around the world. This title has so
far been awarded to a total of twenty world cities, with Ljubljana being
the only one from the region of Southeast Europe.

Suočavanje sa indijskim periodom
U galeriji Tejt Britan otvorena je izložba „Umetnik i imperija: su-
očavanje sa britanskom imperijalnom prošlošću“. Predstavljeno
je 200 dela i objekata koji istražuju period Britanske imperije.
Pripreme za izložbu trajale su tri godine, a prva je prošla u di-
skusijama kako postaviti izložbu koja neće veličati period kolo-
nijalne prošlosti nacije. Izložba je otvorena do aprila. Na snimku
rad Džordža Stabsa „Gepard i jelen sa dva Indijca“ iz 1765.

Facing the Indian period
The Tate Britain gallery is hosting the exhibition “Artist and
Empire: Facing Britain’s Imperial Past”. It presents 200 works
and objects exploring the period of the British Empire. Prepara-
tions for the exhibition lasted three years, first passing through
discussions on how to set up an exhibition that will not exalt the
period of the nation’s colonial past. The exhibition will run until
April. Pictured is George Stubbs’ 1765 painting Cheetah and
Stag with Two Indians.

Italijanski dizajnerski studio
Pininfarina pobedio je na
konkursu za dizajn kontrol-
nog tornja novog istanbul-
skog aerodroma. Aerodina-
mična zgrada projektovana je
u obliku cveta lale – simbola
Istanbula (na crtežu). Aero-
drom sa šest poletno-sletnih
staza biće izgrađen na obali
Crnog mora, 30 kilometara
od grada, a završetak prve od
četiri faze planiran je za 2018.
Pininfarina je najpoznatiji po
dizajnu luksuznih automobila
ferari, ekskluzivnih jahti i
voza Eurostar. Studio Pininfa-
rina nastupio je sa arhitekton-
skom firmom AECOM.

a new airport control tower
in the Turkish metropolis
(pictured). The aerodynamic
building is designed in the
form of a tulip – the symbol of
Istanbul. The airport, with six
runways, will be built on the
Black Sea coast, 30 kilometres
from the city, and the first of
four phases is planned for
completion in 2018. Pinin-
farina is most renowned for
designing luxury Ferrari cars,
exclusive yachts and the Euro-
star train. Studio Pininfarina
competed with architecture
firm AECOM.
