od osam gradova na „evropskoj

World’s most expensive coin
The most expensive coin in the world, an American
silver dollar from 1794, known as the “flowing hair dollar”
(pictured), will be on display for four days, from 9
th
to
12
th
February, at the National Museum in Prague, as the
first of eight cities on the coin’s “European tour” that will
end in London. One of the few surviving examples sold
recently at auction for $10 million. It is believed that the
coin in Prague was one of the first among a total of 1,758
examples minted in Philadelphia on the same day in 1794.
It is believed that around 120 coins from the series have
been preserved.

va se u glavnom gradu Nemačke od 11. do 21. februara. Žiri, na čijem
je čelu ove godine američka glumica Meril Strip, trostruka dobitnica
Oskara, odlučiće kojem će od 18 filmova u zvaničnoj konkurenciji
pripasti Zlatni medved, najviše festivalsko priznanje. Predsednica
žirija Meril Strip (na fotografiji) dobila je 2012. od organizatora festi-
vala počasnog Zlatnog medveda za životno delo.

Berlinale Film Festival
One of the world’s most prestigious film festivals, the Berlinale,
takes place in the German capital from 11

February. The jury,
this year headed by American triple Oscar winner Meryl Streep,
will decide which of the 18 films in the official competition deserves
the Golden Bear, the festival’s top award. Jury President Streep
(pictured) received an Honorary Golden Bear Lifetime Achievement
Award from the organisers of the Berlin International Film Festival
in 2012.

Strani investitori sve više ulažu u istorijske zgrade Milana,
poslovnog centra severne Italije. Najnoviji primer je prošlo-
mesečna investicija Državnog naftnog fonda Azerbejdžana,
koji je za 97 miliona evra kupio Palatu Turati, sedište
Privredne komore Milana (na snimku vitraž iz unutrašnjosti
zgrade). Pre toga su fondovi iz Abu Dabija, Katara i SAD
kupovali nekretnine, a prošlog leta je kineski investicioni
fond kupio Palatu Brođi u centru grada, nekadašnje sedište
Unikredit banke. Procenjuje se da su u prošloj godini inve-
sticije u nekretnine, mahom u centru grada, dostigle četiri
milijarde evra.

Milan
Foreigners buy historic buildings
Foreign investors are increasingly investing in historic buil-
dings in Milan, northern Italy’s main business hub. The most
recent example is last month’s investment by the State Oil Fund
of Azerbaijan, which spent €97 million to buy Turati Palace,
headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce of Milan (pictured
is stained glass from the building’s interior). Prior to that, funds
from Abu Dhabi, Qatar and the United States all bought property
in the city, while last summer a Chinese investment fund bought
Broggi Palace in the city centre, the former headquarters of Uni-
credit bank. It is estimated that real estate investments in the last
year, mainly in the city centre, reached four billion euros.
