iriški Paradeplac najskuplji je deo
Banhofštrase, ulice sa najskupljim nekretni-
nama u Evropi. Na Paradeplacu smeštene su
centrale dve najjače švajcarske banke oko kojih
vlada protestantski mir i red, a ulaze samo retki,
tiho, jedan po jedan.
No, u neposrednoj blizini banaka –svakod-
nevna gužva, guranje preko reda. Nigde se u
Cirihu ne bori za svoje mesto kao u restoranu
konditora Šprungli, „najboljeg švajcarskog
proizvođača čokolade“. S tradicijom dugom 178
godina Šprungli je stariji od švajcarskog zim-
skog turizma, koji će u januaru proslaviti tek sto
pedesetu godišnjicu.
Još veća gužva vlada u prizemlju, ispod
restorana, u trgovini ekskluzivnim švajcarskim
pralinama i čokoladama i kafeu s delikatesnim
sendvičima gde je uvek kao da se sve deli bes-
platno. Nova trendi mesta ovde ne mogu da
pobede tradicionalna. Švajcarci su ipak konzer-
vativni.

Zurich Paradeplatz is the most expensive
part of Bahnhofstrasse, the street with the most
expensive real estate in Europe. On Paradeplatz
are located the headquarters of the two largest
Swiss banks, around which Protestant peace
and order governs, and only a few enter, quietly,
one by one.
However, in the vicinity of the banks is a
daily crowd, pushing in queues. Nowhere in
Zurich does one fight for a place like at the eat-
ery and confectioners Confiserie Sprüngli, “the
best Swiss chocolate makers”. With a tradition
dating back 178 years, Sprüngli is older than
Swiss winter tourism, which will only celebrate
its 150
th
anniversary in January.
An even greater crowd assembles on the
ground floor, beneath the restaurant, buying
exclusive Swiss pralines and chocolates and
drinking in the café with delicious sandwiches,
where it always as though everything is being
given away for free. Here new trendy places
cannot beat traditional venues. The Swiss are
conservative after all.
Tomas Prenosil, chief executive of Confise-
rie Sprüngli shop and café, believes that
