Solun

Nova

destinacija za

svadbe

Solun, centralni grad sever-

ne Grčke, postao je u poslednje

dve godine privlačna destinaci-

ja za venčanja građana susedne

Turske. Solun je rodno mesto

Kemala Ataturka, utemeljiva-

ča moderne Turske, pa Turci

rado dolaze u posete gradu.

Parovi se venčavaju u turskom

konzulatu, a nakon toga odlaze

u Muzej Kemala Ataturka da

fotografijama ovekoveče tre-

nutak. Na snimku: veselje na

turskoj svadbi u Solunu.

Thessaloniki

New

destination for

weddings

Thessaloniki, the central

city of northern Greece, has

become an attractive destina-

tion for weddings between

citizens of neighbouring

Turkey in the last two years.

Thessaloniki is the birthplace

of Kemal Ataturk, the founder

of modern Turkey, which is

why Turks like to visit the city.

Couples complete their nup-

tials at the Turkish consulate,

before heading to the Museum

of Kemal Ataturk to take

photographs immortalising

the moment. Pictured here is

the joyous scene of a Turkish

wedding in Thessaloniki.

Secret gardens

Behind the façades of buildings along the length of Amster-

dam’s canals are hidden some of Amsterdam’s best-kept secrets:

private gardens. Every third weekend in June, some of the most

exclusive houses open their gardens to visitors for three days.

Such gardens are great privilege in a city where excess space rep-

resents a real premium. This year’s Open Garden Days Amster-

dam, which runs from 19

th

to 21

st

June, will allow visitors to enter

25 gardens, some of which are being opened to the public for the

first time. Pictured is an Amsterdam garden in French style.

London

70 hiljada biciklista

12,5 kilometara i prolazi pored svih znamenitosti grada.

London

Seventy thousand cyclists

A record number of seventy thousand cyclists will take to the

streets of London on 1

st

August to participate in a race as part of

the festival of cycling championed by the city’s mayor. The race,

to be organized this year for the third time, covers a route of 12.5

km and passes all of the city’s major sights. Passing through six

urban zones, the course provides for a lot of fun for cyclists, as

well as parking areas where they can safely leave bikes.

Mayor Boris Johnson encourages as many people as possible

to participate, with the UK capital turning strategically more to-

wards developing better infrastructure for cyclists. Pictured here

are participants of last year’s race.
