Osvajanje svemira

Izložba „Kapija svemira“ (Gateway to Space) u glavnom gradu

Belgije, posvećana osvajanju svemira, po prvi put prikazuje preko

sto objekata iz američkog Svemirskog i raketnog centra, uključu-

jući i pravu stenu sa Meseca. Posetioci mogu da šetaju po replici

Međunarodne svemirske stanice i rekonstrukciji ruske svemirske

stanice Mir (na snimku). Izložba prikazuje razvoj svemirskih istra-

živanja, a otvorena je do 25. oktobra.

Conquering space

An exhibition in the Belgian capital entitled “Gateway to Space”,

dedicated to the conquest of space, is showing over a hundred

objects from the U.S. Space and Rocket Centre for the first time,

including a real piece of moon rock. Visitors can walk on a

replica of the International Space Station and a reconstruction

of Russia’s Mir space station (pictured). The exhibition, which

shows the development of space exploration, is open until 25th

October.

Moskva

Rakovi u reci

Moskovljani će uskoro moći da love slatkovodne rakove u

reci Moskvi, koja protiče kroz centar grada. Savezna agen-

cija za ribarstvo objavila je da broj rakova u delovima reke

u severnim oblastima grada ubrzano raste (na snimku).

Agencija time ilustruje značajno poboljšanje ekosistema

glavnog grada. Gradske vlasti objavile su plan za izgrad-

nju 53 postrojenja za prečišćavanje otpadnih voda, a do

2018. obećavaju otvaranje plaža i bezbedno kupanje u reci.

Crayfish in the river

Muscovites will soon be able to hunt crayfish in the River

Moskva, which flows through the centre of the city. The

Federal Agency for Fisheries announced that there is ra-

pid growth in the number of crayfish in parts of the river

in the northern areas of the city (pictured). The Agency

is thereby illustrating the significant improvement in

the ecosystem of the Russian capital. The city authorities

have announced a plan to build 53 wastewater treatment

facilities and promised to open beaches and safe bathing

areas in the river by 2018.

Berlin

Floating urban oasis

One popular place where residents of the German capital go to cool

down on hot summer days is the Badeschiff pool (pictured), which floats

in the River Spree. Around the pool are sandy beaches and wooden

pontoons for sunbathing. The capacity of the mini resort is insufficient

to accommodate all swimmers, so visitors, mostly young people, wait

patiently in line for up to several hours to enter the beach area. They

also wait at the entrance to the swimming pool, while the facility’s staff

cools the public down with hosepipes.
