zimskom periodu, usled atmosferskih padavina,
snega ili ledene kiše, može se pojaviti led na avi-
onu zbog niske temperature. Neophodno je odstraniti
led i zaštititi avion od formiranja novih naslaga. Zašto
je to bitno? Krila i rep aviona su specifičnog oblika,
konstruisana da obezbede stvaranje sile uzgona. Na-
slage snega ili leda na tim površinama menjaju oblik
krila i repa i samim tim utiču na njihovo opstrujava-
nje, umanjujući stvaranje sile uzgona.
Zaštita se postiže tako što se avion pre poletanja
isprska zagrejanom tečnošću koja je hemijska mešavina
glikola i vode. Koncentracija glikola u mešavini štiti
avion određeno vreme, u zavisnosti od atmosferskih
uslova, vrsta padavina i spoljašnje temperature. Tako
pripremljen avion spreman je za poletanje.
Tokom leta mešavina gubi svoja svojstva i efika-
snost, ali taj zadatak preuzimaju sistemi na letelici koji
sprečavaju formiranje nanosa snega i leda na krilu,
repu i drugim osetljivim delovima aviona.
Treba napomenuti da piloti i zemaljsko oso-
blje prolaze posebnu obuku eksploatacije aviona u
zimskom periodu koja je neophodna za bezbedno
obavljanje vazdušnog saobraćaja.

During the winter months, as a result of
precipitation, snow or icy rain, ice may form on the
plane because of low temperatures. The ice needs to
be removed and the airplane needs to be protected
from new deposits forming. Why is that important?
The wings and tail of the plane are shaped in a way
that generates lift. Deposits of ice or snow on these
surfaces change the shape of the wings and tail and
therefore affect the airflow, reducing lift.
The airplane is protected by spraying it with a
heated liquid, a chemical mixture of glycol and water,
before liftoff. The glycol in the mix protects the air-
plane for a certain period, depending on atmospheric
conditions, precipitation and outside temperature.
After that, the plane is ready to take off.
During the flight, the mixture loses its potency,
but then the airplane’s systems take over, preventing
snow and ice from forming on the wings, tail and other
sensitive parts of the plane.
It should be noted that pilots and ground crews go
through special training on how to control the aircraft
during the winter period, that’s necessary for air traffic
safety.
