manifestacije iz inostranstva, pa je
održana manifestaciona maraton-
ska trka u kojoj je 39 maratonaca
složno pretrčalo celu stazu za 3
sata i 17 minuta, ušavši zajedno u
cilj visoko podignutih ruku. To je
bio jedini maraton u istoriji u kom
su svi učesnici bili pobednici. U
„Trci zadovoljstva“ učestvovalo
je tada oko petnaest hiljada ljudi.
Istog dana, u dvadeset jednom
ruskom gradu održani su lokalni
„Beogradski maratoni“ u znak
solidarnosti sa beogradskim mara-
toncima.
Pobednik prve trke na
Beogradskom maratonu, 1988,
jedinom na kome su trčali samo
domaći sportisti, u muškoj kon-
kurenciji bio je Rifat Zilkić s vre-
menom 1 : 09,02, a u konkurenciji
žena Radisavka Račić. I naredne
godine laureati su bili domaći
maratonci: U muškoj konkurenciji
pobedio je Dragan Isailović sa vre-
menom 2 : 34,48, a u konkurenciji
žena Suzana Ćirić, sa vremenom
3 : 03,21.
Od treće godine održavanja
Beogradski maraton je međuna-
rodno takmičenje. Od tada u glav-
ni grad Srbije dolaze maratonci iz
celog sveta, najviše iz Afrike, i od
tada počinje njihova dominacija u
Beogradu. Pobednik trećeg mara-
tona u muškoj konkurenciji bio je
Džozef Nzau, iz Kenije, sa vreme-
nom 2 : 19,32.
Već gotovo trideset godina
maraton privlači desetine hiljada
Beograđana i njihovih gostiju koji
zajedno trče beogradskim ulicama
i promovišu zdrav život i huma-
nost. Rekorde maratona drže u
muškoj konkurenciji Jafet Kosgei
iz Kenije sa rezultatom 2 : 10,54
(2006), a u ženskoj Rumunka
Kristina Pomaku (2001), koja je
stazu pretrčala za 2 : 29,44.
Air Serbia je jedan od eksklu-
zivnih sponzora Beogradskog
maratona.
e
the marathon was held under
the slogan “Stop the War - Run the
World”. That was the world’s first
marathon to be organised dur-
ing wartime. Even without being
called, runners from seven coun-
tries came to Belgrade, as well
as numerous friends of the event
from abroad, and thus was held an
event marathon race in which 39
runners ran the entire course in
unison in three hours and 17 min-
utes, crossing the finish line to-
gether with their arms raised in
victory. That was the only mara-
thon in history in which all partic-
ipants were winners. That year’s
Fun Run had around 15 thousand
participants. On that same day 21
Russian cities held local “Belgrade
Marathons”, in a show of solidarity
with Belgrade’s marathoners.
The winner of the first race at
the Belgrade Marathon, in 1988,
the only one to feature exclusively
domestic runners, Rifat Zilkić, with
a time of 1:09:02, while Radisavka
Račić was the winner among the
female runners. And the next year’s
winners were also local maratho-
ners: Dragan Isailović won in the
men’s competition, with a time of
2:34:48, while the fastest female
runner was Suzana Ćirić, with a
time of 3:03:21.
From the third year onwards
the Belgrade Marathon became an
international competitive event.
Since then marathon runners from
around the world have been com-
ing to the Serbian capital, most-
ly from Africa, and it was then
that their domination of Belgrade
began. The winner of the third
Belgrade Marathon in the male
competition was Joseph Nzau
from Kenya, with a time of 2:19:32.
For almost thirty years the
Belgrade Marathon has attract-
ed tens of thousands of Belgraders
and their guests, who together race
the streets of Belgrade and promote
healthy living and humanity. The
record results are held by Japhet
Kosgei from Kenya in the men’s cat-
egory, with a result of 2:10:54 (2006),
and Romania’s Cristina Pomacu
(2001) in the women’s competition,
who ran the course in 2:29:44.
Air Serbia is one of the ex-
clusive sponsors of Belgrade
Marathon.
