However, as part of its traditional Art Event initiative, in collaboration with top creatives, the Allen key is becoming a design object of desire. Gelchop’s Ryota Morikawa transformed the form of this modest key into a LED lamp and torch. Apart from its obvious values in terms of usage, there is also the artistic value that comes from reinventing everyday objects in an unexpected way. While it isn’t a gadget in the classical sense of the word, the way it’s designed andmanufactured places it among the ranks of the allies of everyday life that will make you wonder how you even copedwithout them.
