This social media giant is very well aware of its popularity, which is why it has utilised its users’ deep-rooted love for literature to launch an official literary club. The TikTok Book Club is open to everyone, as is the #BookTok hashtag, but it also has an organised structure. Each month, a new book is announced that members can read together, sharing their experiences and opinions. The TikTok app itself also has a special hub dedicated to the Book Club, which displays information on the new title of the month. “Fromspotlighting little-knownauthors and genres to introducing the classics to a new generation, #BookTok has helped to reignite a passion for literature and we [are] creating a new take on themuch-loved #BookClub format, so our community can continue to connect, spark conversations and share the books they love most,” said James Stafford, head of partnerships and community at TikTok.
