Saobraćaj se u regionu najviše odvijao ka Tivtu i Podgorici, zatim Ljubljani i Skoplju, a nešto manji broj letova realizovan je ka Hrvatskoj i Bosni i Hercegovini. Rast broja prevezenih putnika u odnosu na isti mesec prethodne godine zabeležen je i ka Sofiji (172 odsto) i Bukureštu (80 odsto). Za Er Srbiju region Balkana, povezivanje balkanskih zemalja i mobilnost njihovih stanovnika izuzetno su važni. U skladu s tim, nacionalna avio-kompanija je aktivno učestvovala u nedavnom događaju koji je u Beogradu organizovan u okviru inicijative Otvoreni Balkan. The number of passengers carried increased by 38 per cent compared to the samemonth of 2021, or by two per cent compared to the record-setting pre-pandemicmonth of August 2019. Charter flights also achieved good results, with almost 90,000 passengers carried. In addition to charters, this August was also amonth of major movement of diaspora fromSerbia and the region, resulting in an increase in the total number of passengers carried on routes toWestern Europe. The highest growth, of 290%, was recorded on flights to Rome, followed byMilanwith 224%, Stuttgart with 208%, Dusseldorf with 140% and Londonwith 129%. The Serbian national airline estimates that the number of passengers it carried in August, similar to July, will have accounted for over 55 per cent of the total number of passengers who travelled through Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport. “Last monthwe achieved first place in the Balkan region in terms of flights operated at aweekly level. Passengers recognise the benefits offered by our network of destinations and high flight frequency during the summer season, and they continue to place their trust in us, for whichwe are immensely grateful. We are convinced that the trend of growth in passenger numbers on our company’s flights will also continue in the coming period. The Balkan region, connecting Balkan countries and serving themobility of their citizens, is exceptionally important to Air Serbia. Accordingly, the national airline actively participated in the recent Belgrade event organised as a part of theOpen Balkan initiative.
