Među najlepše letnje provode ubraja se plovidba do
dunavskih sprudova, malih peščanih ostrva koja se po-
javljuju u julu, kada vodostaj velike reke opadne. Sprud
je čista, netaknuta plaža, stvorena u trenutku, samo za
jednu porodicu ili jedno društvo. Reka oko sprudova je
čista, privlačna za kupače.
Ne postoje tačne statistike o tome koliko sprudo-
va izroni na toku reke Dunav kroz Srbiju, dugom 588
kilometara, ali su najpoznatiji i najposećeniji sprudovi
na severu Srbije kod Apatina, zatim kod Novog Sada,
administrativnog centra Vojvodine kod kojeg se najpo-
znatiji sprud pojavljuje svake druge godine, kao i oni
uzvodno i nizvodno od Beograda.

Among the most beautiful ways to spend the
summer is sailing to the Danube sandbars, small sandy
islands that appear in July, when the great river’s water
level falls. The sandbars are clean, unspoiled beaches, cre-
ated in a moment, just big enough for a single family or
single group. The river around the sandbars is clean and
attractive for swimmers. There are no exact statistics on
how many sandbanks emerge over the Danube’s 588-ki-
lometre-long course through Serbia, but the most famous
and most visited sand islands are in northern Serbia, near
Apatin, followed by those near Novi Sad, the administra-
tive centre of Vojvodina, where the most famous sandbar
appears every other year, just like those upstream and
downstream from Belgrade.
