Koliko je srećanbraksnjomdoprineoda budete uspešni i kao umetnik? – Stabilan privatni život utiče na načinna koji imaš potrebuda se izraziš. Verovatno se zato bavim melodičnim rokom, a ne pankom ili bluzom. (smeh) Za koje profesije su se opredelila vaša deca? – Aleksa i Ana veoma vole muziku, sviraju pomalo gitaru, odnosno klavir, ali nemaju nameru da se bave muzikom. Aleksa je apsolvent Elektrotehničkog fakulteta. Ana je na drugoj godini studija psihologije na Filozofskom fakultetu u Beogradu. Mnogo su pametniji od mene. Na majku. Kakav jeDejanCukić sa60godina i štamu jezrelost donela? – Nemam pojma. U novembru samnapunio 60. Nisamosetio neku promenu. Malo kašljem ovih dana, ali izgleda da je to od virusa. (smeh) Volite putovanja, u avionu ste čak napisali pesmu… – Volim da putujem bilo kojim prevoznimsredstvom. I uvek slušam muziku. Letenje avionom posebno me podstiče na razmišljanje. Novi album otvara pesma Prvi let , za koju je tekst upravo nastao tokom jednog leta. Koju državu biste rado posetili, a još niste imali priliku? – Voleo bih da vidimJapan. Ljudi koji su bili tamo kažu da je to druga planeta i neverovatna kultura. Ali baš je daleko… Zašto je dobro biti Dejan Cukić? – Zato što je divno buditi se svakog jutra pored žene koju obožavaš, a onda se polako posvetiti stvarima u kojima uživaš i još ti omogućavaju pristojan život… I ne odgovarati nikome za gluposti koje praviš, osim sebi i svojoj porodici. ber of theAssociationof Jazz, Entertainment andRockMusicand theAssociationof Serbian Journalists... He didn’t contact anyone during his visit to Serbia to perform at the Zaječar Guitar Fest. Hewas savinghis voicedue toa throat problem. But since I translatedhis autobiography for ourmarket – thanks toguitarist SteveStevens and Billy’s kindly personal manager – we met alone and communicated by miming [laughs]. I said to him: “Don’t worry I’m also a singer, so I understand you perfectly”.” Who else would you like to meet? “As an eternal fan of the Beatles, I’d love tomeet Paul McCartney or Ringo Starr. I love theStonestoo,but there’snorushthere-Ketih Richardswillbewithusforalongtime[laughs]. That’s probablywhy I’mdealingwithmelodic rock, asopposed to punk or blues [laughs].” What professions have your children chosen to pursue? “Aleksa and Ana really love music and play a bit of guitar or piano, but they have no intention of working in music. Aleksa is a graduate student at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. Ana is in her second year of studying psychology at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade. They aremuch smarter than I am, after their mother.” HowisDejanCukićat60andwhathas maturity brought you? “I haveno idea. I turned60 inNovember. I didn’t feel any change. I’ve been coughing a bit these days, but it looks like that’s just a virus (laughs).” You like to travel andonceevenwrote a song aboard a plane… “I like to travel usinganymeansof transport. And I always listen to music. But it’s really far away...” Why is it good to be Dejan Cukić? “Because it’s wonderful to wake up every morning alongside the woman you adore. And then to slowly dedicate yourself to the things you enjoy, and for that still to enable you to have a decent life...
