Following an invitation fromBELEF andmodern art platform Kiosk, renowned French artist Alby Guillaume, aka Remed, decided to come to Belgrade and create a mural that is today one of the symbols of the city. As he had never been before visited our capital, he devoted himself to seriously researching its history and art. He was particularly impressed by the medieval churches and frescoes, while the mainmotif for inspiration was the icon of the Three-Handed Virgin. On the La Santa de Belgrade mural we can see a black and white silhouette, as well as the opposing principles of creation and destruction. This mural, which is best seen from one of our city’s busiest tra c arteries, leaves no one feeling indifferent. RITAM GRADA RHYTHM OFTHE CITY REMED , KARAĐORĐEVA REMED2008, KARAĐORĐEVA 31
