To je izazvalo pomeranje korita reke, a od bare je nastalo čuveno Skadarsko jezero. Stvoreno je carstvo prirode koje su ispunile jedinstvene biljne i životinjske vrste. Jezero je stanište čak 264 vrsta ptica.
