However, uniting family members, friends and business partners, bringing cities closer to one another, andmaking the world a more comfortable place, is not all they do. As most airlines represent their nation and country of origin, national airlines, in particular, have a special responsibility. Airlines are often a person’s rst association with a country when travelling abroad, and I’m sure we are all aware of the importance of rst impressions. This being said, it is imperative that governments and national airlines work hand in hand to capture the true essence of their countries and citizens. Since its launch in October 2013, Air Serbia and the Serbian Government have been working together continuously to nd creative and innovative ways to attract new guests and boost tourism. And now we have taken a new step forward. It is with great pleasure that I write these lines welcoming you aboard your Air Serbia ight and introducing you to a very special issue of ELEVATE magazine, in which I proudly present the Serbia Creates platform that Air Serbia is honoured be a partner of throughout 2019. The Serbia Creates concept is part of a wider initiative conceived by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Ana Brnabić. It is the rst initiative of its kind that aims to position Serbia, locally and internationally, in ways that echo and celebrate the core attributes of the Serbian character - creativity, innovation, originality, authenticity, resilience and, of course, hospitality. With exceptional individuals as Creative Ambassadors, this project aspires not only to introduce Serbian talent to the world, but also to inspire people around the world with the creative spirit of Serbia. As Serbia’s national airline, Air Serbia joins forces with the Serbia Creates project to support it in pro ling Serbia as a great place to visit. Our A330 aircraft will carry the Serbia Creates colours across the ocean, bringing Serbia and Serbian creativity closer to our thousands of international passengers worldwide, while at the same time upholding the citizens of Serbia as proud representatives of their country. This is only the beginning of a very exciting creative journey. Serbia is a remarkable place to visit, invest, study or do business. Većina zapravo predstavlja svoj narod i zemlju iz koje dolazi, zbog čega nacionalne avio-kompanije imaju posebnu odgovornost. Često su upravo one prvo što ljudi vide kada putuju u inostranstvo, a siguran sam da smo svi svesni važnosti prvih utisaka. Upravo zbog toga imperativ je da vlade i avio-prevoznici rade ruku pod ruku kako bi zajedno predstavili pravu suštinu svojih zemalja i njihovih građana. Od svog pokretanja u oktobru 2013. godine Er Srbija sa Vladom Srbije kontinuirano radi na pronalaženju kreativnih i inovativnih načina za privlačenje novih putnika i jačanje turizma. Sada smo otišli još jedan korak napred. Sa velikim zadovoljstvom pišem ove redove i želim vam dobrodošlicu na let na kom vas upoznajemo sa specijalnim brojem časopisa Elevejt koji sa ponosom predstavlja platformu Srbija stvara, sa kojom Er Srbija ima čast da bude partner u 2019. godini. Stevica Rajčetić is a poet from Borča who wandered into the world of online journalism. He draws inspiration for his articles from rivers that he’s always happy to return to, except when he cheats on them with the Greek sea. He likes interesting people who have the courage to live their dreams. For this issue he presents bloggers and journalists who’ve toured nine new Air Serbia flight destinations. Ana Kalaba je urednica kulturne rubrike na portalu Noizz.rs. U novinarstvu je skoro 15 godina, a u rokenrolu, svetu umetnosti i beogradskim pričama mnogo duže. Ritam grada prati od početka saradnje sa Elevejtom, a u ovom broju predstavlja vam neke stare bioskope, one sa dušom, koji su živeli sa gradom pre nego što su primat preuzele velike dvorane. Ana Kalaba is editor of the culture section of portal Noizz.rs. Having worked in journalism for 15 years, she has been in rock ‘n’ roll, the art world and Belgrade stories for a lot longer. She has been following the rhythm of the city since the start of her cooperation with Elevate, and for this issue she presents to you some old cinemas, those with soul, which thrived before the large multiplexes. The SerbiaCreates platformwas developed at the request of Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, who recognisednot only theenormous potential of the Creative Industries in Serbia, but also the fact that creativity and innovative thinking are a common denominator in all competitive branches of the Serbian economy – from mining to agriculture, technology and the performing arts. Alongside digitisation and education reform, PrimeMinister Brnabić also placed the creative industries among her main priorities. The Council conceived the Serbia Creates concept, and the team from the PM’s cabinet, with the support of the Council, organises numerous events, activities, workshops, round-tables and promotional initiatives within the framework of this new platform. I don’t board without earphones. This is my favourite time for listening to music, writing words, summarising. I carry my planner. For me, ying by plane is one of my dearest moments to slightly remove myself (and literally physically) and view life from a bird’s perspective. There’s also an icon that has travelled with me since 1999. It’s always there. BEZČEGANE ULAZITEUAVION? Ne ulazim bez slušalica. To je omiljeno vreme za slušanje muzike, pisanje, rezimiranje. Nosim svoj planer. Za mene je let avionom jedan od najdražih trenutaka da se malo izmaknem (i fizički bukvalno) i pogledam život iz ptičje perspektive. Takođe, tu je i ikona, koja sa mnom putuje svetom još od 1999. Uvek je tu. ZAŠTO VOLITE BEOGRAD? Beograd je moj rodni grad, a za Dorćol sam posebno vazana, kao i za Senjak. U Beogradu imam porodicu i prijatelje, zatim moje prijatelje muzičare sa kojima gotovo deceniju putujem i sviram. U Beogradu je moje srce. WHICH DESTINATION HAS REMAINED IN YOUR MEMORY? Mauritius. My husband and I travelled via a connecting ight from Paris and spent two weeks there, closer to Madagascar, closer to nature. WHY DO YOU LOVE BELGRADE? Belgrade is my hometown, and I’m particularly closely connected to Dorćol and Senjak. In Belgrade I have family and friends, then my musician friends with whom I’ve been travelling and performing for nearly a decade. My heart is in Belgrade. ZAŠTOVOLITE AVIONE? Zbog činjenice da smo na trenutak bliži nebu, za mene je taj momenat uvek nekako i duhovno poseban. Samo uzbuđenje koje nosi bilo koje putovanje, novi planovi, ideje, sve to nekako vezujem za avion. PROLEĆNO SKIJANJE NA JAHORINI Snežna idila na Jahorini nakon tri meseca izuzetno uspešne zimske sezone nastavlja i u martu te iz Olimpijskog centra Jahorina savetuju svima da iskoriste ovaj mesec za skijanje i užitak na snegu. Na skijalištu Jahorina skijašima i borderima su na raspolaganju sedam instalacija, svih 40 kilometara staza i tri poligona za obuku, a savršeni uslovi za skijanje su najavljeni do aprila. Uz odlično pripremljene staze, lepše vreme i dan koji duže traje, u martu na Jahorini u okviru promotivnog vikenda odobravaju popust od 20 odsto, i to u terminima od 7. do 10. marta i od 28. do 31. marta. Promotivne cene karata su samo jedno od iznenađenja koje je OC Jahorina pripremio za sve svoje posetioce, a tu su takođe mnogobrojni zabavni sadržaji i manifestacije koje obećavaju mesec ispunjen adrenalinom, dobrom zabavom i nezaboravnim provodom. Silueta sa uskim strukom, naglašenim grudima i širokommidi-suknjom, poznata kao new look delovala je potpuno nestvarno poslemučnih ratnihgodina, racionalizacije imodelana kojima se i kragna smatrala bahatim luksuzom, a svila koristila samo za padobrane. Dior je nemilosrdno trošio i po 20metaramaterijala za kostime i 40metara za luksuzne večernje haljine. Došlo je njegovih pet minuta i nije želeo da ih propusti. Poželji porodice školovaose zadiplomatu, iako je želeo da postane arhitekta. Jedva ih je ubedio da mu pomognu da otvori umetničku galeriju, u kojoj su izlagali Pablo Pikaso, Žan Kokto i Maks Žakob. Bilo je to 1928. Modna kuća još je bila daleko. Pre rata, radio je kao dizajner kod Robera Pigea, a posle rata kod Lusijena Lelonga, a uz podršku Marsela Busaka, proizvođača tekstila, 1946. osniva modnu kuću Dior. Sledeće godine prikazuje prvu kolekciju Corolle and 8, koja će ostati zapamćena kao new look. „Stvorio sam ženu-cvet“, izjavio je Dior. Smestio se u kući sa vrtom u ulici Montenj, koju je uredio kao kombinaciju ateljea i životnog prostora. Vodila ga je želja da napravi prostor koji je drugačiji od luksuznih krojačkih salona smeštenih u čuvenoj ulici Šanzelize. Izradumodela kontrolisao je od početka do kraja, a od svoje vizije nije odustajao. Usklađivao je siluetu sa dizajnom, diktirao izbor asesoara i priliku za koju je taoleta namenjena. Nosioci njegovog dizajna nisu imali nikakav prostor za lično izražavanje, a samim tim i za rizik da kreaciju vizuelno upropaste. Bez obzira na njegovu veličinu, mogli bismo ga nazvati modnim diktatorom.
