Ljubljana Capsules replace hotel rooms With a view to the Japanese model of accommodation, one Ljubljana hotel is offering guests the chance to sleep in capsules instead of rooms. Unlike a standard room costing around 140 euros per night, sleeping in a capsule costs just 30 euros, while the experience is certainly di erent. The capsules aren’t intended only for sleeping; they don’t lack in luxury and include a TV, high-speed wi- connection, safe andmirror. According to hotel management, this novelty is aimed primarily at millennials seeking relaxed, authentic and urban accommodation. I odlučni smo u tome. Kroz iskustvo junaka proširili smo vidike. Stvorili smo nove formule, nova uživanja, nove Zlatiborac ukuse. Postavili smo nove standarde. Verujemo i u avanturiste oko sebe.

NEVEN BOŠKOVIĆ IGRAM IGRICEU AVIONU WHY DO YOU LIKE PLANES? Aeroplanes are the best thing that a man could think up. I adore them! There’s no other existing means of transport that can take you so quickly and comfortably to some distant parts of the world, not to mention that there are places you can’t even reach except by plane. I PLAY GAMES ON PLANES BEZ ČEGA NE ULAZITE U AVION? Južna Amerika me je takođe oduševila. WHAT DON’T YOU BOARD A PLANE WITHOUT? I don’t have any kind of ritual, but I usually check the documents I need for the journey. If the ight is short, then I buy daily newspapers, but if it’s longer I buy magazines or bring a book. I always have a computer next to me and I play games. WHICH DESTINATION HAS REMAINED STRONGLY IN YOUR MEMORY? I’ve travelled a lot and seen amazing lands, and it’s di cult for me to single out one, but Vietnam is a country that left me speechless. I like destinations that don’t resemble Europe, because I want everything to be di erent tome, strange. I was also delightedwith South America. WHY DO YOU LOVE BELGRADE? First and foremost, I was born in Belgrade and my whole family is here. I’ve lived in many countries and on different continents, but no matter how beautiful they were as countries, and how good for life, I never felt like I belong there as I do here. I grew up on this asphalt, and that’s where I feel the best. NA PUTU / ON THE ROAD Tekst/Words: Ljiljana Perović Fotografije/Photography: Uroš Arsić ZAŠTO VOLITE AVIONE?

– Iznajmio sam jedan bar u Cirihu, pozvao 20 direktora i 20 naučnika, dobitnika Nobelove nagrade, i rekao im: „Ispričajte nam zanimljive stvari na kojima radite. – Srbija i World.minds sarađuju dugi nizgodina. Nauka imadugu tradiciju u Srbiji, a mi smo bili fascinirani bogatim intelektualnim potencijalom regiona. To povezuje naučnike i SRPSKI NAUČNICI MENJAJU SVET SERBIAN SCIENTISTS CHANGE THEWORLD umetnike. Prečesto naučnici, poslovni lideri i umetnici žive i rade u svojoj zoni komfora. Rolf Dobelli, an entrepreneur and author of several books, is the founder of theWorld.Minds community, whichwill this year relocate for the rst time fromhis native Zurich tobe held in Belgrade. And everything beganwhen he rst realised that his business friends had lost touch with science. “I rented a bar in Zurich, invited 20 directors and 20 scientists – winners of Nobel Prizes – and said to them: ‘tell us the interesting things that you’re doing’. And that’s how we started,” says Dobelli. His community today includes a thousand people and can be joined solely via invitation. Ideas are presented andworks agreed in the community, and this year that will all happen in our country. Tell us about the relationship betweenWORLD.MINDS andSerbia, andhowithasdevelopedtothestagewhere WORLD.MINDSBelgradeishappening.HowdidBelgrade become the only host besides Zurich? - Serbia andWORLD.MINDS have been working together for many years. Science has a long tradition in Serbia, and we’ve been fascinated by the rich intellectual fabric of the region. President Vučić and Prime Minister Brnabić participated in WORLD.MINDS Annual Symposia in Zurich during the past couple of years, so we decided to bring our communities together. Does Serbiadeserve tobe recognisedas a creativeand innovative country for the arts, science and technology? What are your impressions? - Absolutely. In terms of applied science, Serbia is worldclass. In addition, Serbia has a hugediaspora of extremely successful scientists and entrepreneurs all over the world, Serbs who change the world in many elds. World.Minds initially linked business and science, only later to be joined by artists. - Our mission is to understand the world. Science and the arts are two avenues to accomplish this. The arts can offer perspectives on the world that are truly enlightening. Having said that, our main focus remains science. In your opinion, what connects science and the arts; and how do artists react when you invite them to your symposia? - If you want to be world class as a scientist or artist, you have to be incredibly imaginative and creative. This unites scientists and artists. Artists love exchanging views with researchers, so they love being invited. What are your predictions for the futureof science and innovation? - By de nition, it is impossible to forecast innovations or breakthrough inventions. If we could forecast them, we would know about them today and they would have already been invented. What impact / change do youwant to achieve through your work on a global level? - We want to build the necessary bridges between science, business and the arts. Too often, scientists, business leaders and artists live and work in their mental silos. In today’s world, real progress mainly comes from collaboration. So, in short, you could say that our mission is not to bemerely interdisciplinary, but “anti-disciplinary”. What should theaudience expect fromWORLD.MINDS Belgrade? - A veritable reworks display of stunning presentations fromtrulyworld-class people fromall over theworld; fantastic discussions and a wonderful audience of leaders in science, business and the arts with whom to mingle. SERBIA CREATES Serbia Creates is the new, national platform initiated by Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić. It encompasses strategic measures to develop the creative and innovative industries, strengthen cultural diplomacy and position Serbia as country of creative, innovative and authentic people and ideas. Serbia will be represented at the WORLD.MINDS Symposium by three creative ambassadors of the Serbia Creates platform: the Teslagram, a technological innovation under development at the Institute of Physics that represents the best system for protecting documents against forgeries; The BioSense Institute, as the centre for digital solutions in agriculture; and 3Lateral, a leading producer of digital human scanning technology.

Za „Elevejt“ govore Emilija Klark, prelepa Kalisi, i glavni šmeker u seriji Nikolaj Koster Voldo, poznatiji kao Džejmi Lanister Eight years have passed since the premiere of the rst episode, and the actors whose characters have managed to survive for eight seasons could never even have dreamt that the fateful date of 17th April 2011 would forever change their lives, launching them into stardom. Speaking for this issue of Elevate are Emilia Clarke, who plays the beautiful Khaleesi, and the main heartthrob of the series, Nikolaj CosterWaldau, better known as Jaime Lannister CAUSE THE NIGHT IS DARK AND FULL OF TERRORS

When the nal episode of the seventh seasonof GameofThrones ended inAugust 2017, and the dragon that turned into the undead opened its icy blue eye at the end, it seemed that nobody would survive. Yes, of course, the chances are that many of them won’t survive in the imagined lands of R. R. Martinwhen the zombies bring down thewall, but I’mactually talking about people around theworld imagining that theywon’t survive for another two years until the next season! Nevertheless, euphoria shook the planet this April, as many fans of Game of Thrones welcomed the nal stage of this popular saga. However, this popular TV phenomenon is nearing its end, with themain stars moving on to new projects. And no matter how sorry the audience is that they will soon part ways with their heroes and villains, it seems that it’s even tougher for the actors. In London, on the eve of the premiere of the rst episode of the eighth season, we had an opportunity to talk to them, and here’s what some of the most beloved characters told us on this occasion. To me nije zanimalo. Generalno, ne guglam čak ni sebe... Zaista, nikakvekomentarenečitate? EmilijaKlark EMOTIVNA I MOĆNAMAJKA ZMAJEVA EMILIA CLARKE: SENSITIVE AND POWERFUL MOTHEROF DRAGONS Poslednja scena bila je magična, kaže Emilija My final scene was really magical, says Emilia

Daenerys, or Khaleesi, themother of dragons, futurequeen, who’s in lovewith the favourite Jon Snow, Prince of the North, but it turned out that she’s his aunt! Okay, we’ve yet to see all of that, but Emilia Clarke is a girl we certainlywon’t forget. She speaks to Elevate about the last season, happenings behind the scenes during shooting and what all of that has to do with Brad Pitt. Howdoyounowseethoseexplicitscenes, especially those violent ones with Khal Drogo? - Uh, that’s so... That had to be like that, we had to see all the su ering that Daenerys went through, in order for the audience to reach that level of empathywith and compassion for her; for themto come to love her through that su ering. That certainly isn’t a part of the series that I would change in any way. What is particularly interesting is the fact that I’m still asked such questions, which says a lot about the kind of society in which we live. We often see some famous women aroundtheworldidentifyingwithKhaleesi,whoadmirethepowerofthatwoman... - The series really addresses power a lot, and what makes it unique is that this power is given to the female characters, which sends a strong and signi cantmessage. This is a series about a fantastical world in fantastical times, but giving such roles to women is really very important. Have you read the di erent theories about how the series will end? There are many inspirational and entertaining ones. - I haven’t. Iwasn’t interested inthat. Generally, I don’t even ‘google’ myself... You really don’t read any comments at all? - No, because I don’t think that’s good formymental health. There are toomanydifferent considerations and observations on that topic. You know, I also had some theory of my own about the series, but after reading the script I realised that I’d been deeply mistake [laughs]. Do you think that George R. R. Martin will nally nish all the books? - Hewill, I’msure. I have a lot of trust and faith in him when it comes to that. How signi cant has the recognisability of the series and your role been for you as an actress? - It’s de nitely opened a lot of doors to me that would have remained closed if not for this show. What is the craziest thing youdreamt of as a girl that actually happened to you thanks to Game of Thrones? - I’mcurrently struggling to single some of them out. There have really been a lot, but perhaps it was that situation with Brad Pitt [the famous actor donated $120,000 at a charity dinner just to spend the evening with Emilia Clarke]. That seemed to me like some crazy dream that I’d wake up from as the twelve-year-old Emilia. But then I saw Brad sitting reclined on a chair winking at me. It was really crazy. Could you tell us something about that last day of shooting and the final scene – given that shooting it took ten years? -Oh, itwasveryemotional.Thatwastheday I realised that alcohol can cause one to fall into depression [laughs]. That nal scene was really magical. Teams came from other sets, because they knew that it was my last scene. Everyone waited a three full hours for it to be completed. Usactorsreceivedwonderfulgifts; itwasallreallyemotional.Mybrother lmeditall, andIcould just hear himgroaning behindmy back. I cried so much. Prelep dan, Severna Irska, sjajna ekipa, sjajne scene. Pomislio sam: „Bože, mora da sam se prehladio.“ (smeh) Fromthe rstseasontothe - naleof theseries, JaimeLannisterhascomea longway– fromthemost despised character to someone we’re cheering on. Along with him, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who portrays this character, has also come a long way – to the status of a Hollywood star. He spoke exclusively for Elevate about the nal season of this biggest ever TV spectacle, and why he thinks that such a series will never be repeated. It is interesting that more than a year was needed to shoot six episodes... - Yes, it took twice as long to shoot these six episodes than to shoot a normal season. This is linked to the volume of things we did during that time. That’s unprecedented for television and even for many lms, in terms of the number of people involved in the shooting and the number of characters in the series. Filming scenes with so many people takes a long time. Was it di cult? - At one point, the team worked for more than 50 consecutive nights and still had smiles on their faces. That was a crazy nal season. But all of us – both those behind the camera and those in front – were determined to complete the series in the right way. Have you acquired any special skills that you didn’t have? - I’m better at horse riding, that’s for sure. I also use my left hand better. And you become technically better at acting; when you shoot for so long you develop an increasingly better understanding of the technical aspect of implementing action scenes... What was your last day like; the last scene you shot? - I can’t talk about the scenes, but it was the perfect end to the entire experience of shooting this series. Abeautiful day, Northern Ireland, a great team, a great scene. By this point I’ve seenmany farewell speeches in the series, and I always wondered why people become so emotional? I thought that was ridiculous and that I’m too tough for that. And then they give you this beautifully framed section of the script – mine was about the time my hand was severed. On the back they wrote a few beautiful words and I suddenly felt my face becoming wet. I thought: God, I must have caught a cold [laughs]. To mi mnogo znači! Štaje, osimpobedenaEvrosongu, još uželjama i nadanjima? Popularnost nije promenila moje prioritete. (smeh) Theblue-eyed, blonde-haired, quali edmusicteacherandrepresentativeofSerbiaat the2019Eurovision SongContest inTel Aviv is Nevena Božović (24),who is reallyanexcellent choice for the most important European competition in music, especially considering that the song ‘Kruna’, with which she will represent the country, is her own artistic work. Shewroteboth the lyrics and themusic, and she knew from the very start that this melody had “that something” needed to win. “I rst sang this song in somemade up language of my own. The rst words of the lyrics that I devised were “soul calms”. It is also true that I knew upon rst hearing it that this song was special.” Will there be some changes to the song or the set design for the stage in Tel Aviv? -We released the version that I will perform in Israel. There are no major changes, while we primarily dealt with nalising the arrangement. Therewill be a change to the set design, but let’s leave that as a surprise until 14th May, when I perform in the rst semi- nal evening. Howmany hours a day do you spend preparing for your Eurovisionperformance? - It might sound ridiculous, but I rst thoroughly devise in my mind how I will sing each word with my inner hearing. My preparations are complex. It’s important for a start that I sleep well, have a healthy diet and train. Vocal rehearsals have started withmy team, as well as work on the stage performance, in which choreographer Milan Gromilić helps me to be true to myself. DoyoufollowtheEurovisionSongContest every year and what do you like the most about these competitions? - I’vebeen following it for years andappreciate that fact that therearegoodsingers andgood songs every year. I’malso curious to see every detail of the second semi- nal evening on 16th May, and I also hope to be on stagewith the Eurovision nalists on the evening of 18th May. Whoareyour favoriteEurovisioncolleagues? - I would single out Salvador, the winner of Eurovision fromPortugal, and Swedish singer Loreen. My favourite is the group Abba. Have you consulted with Željko Joksimović and Marija Šerifović, who achieved great success? - I haven’t had an opportunity tomeet them, but I’veheard their praiseandwill use this occasion to thank them. That means a lot to me! Which song of your competitors do you like? - I like the song that will represent Sweden. Have you previously been to Israel or Tel Aviv? - I’ve never been to that country before. I’m excited, because in April I’mgoing there for the rst time to record a Eurovision TV postcard that will be used to present our country. Is there anything that you fantasise about succeeding in professionally? - Although I have a rich biography for myagewhen it comes to internationalmusic festivals, I’maware that I’mjust at thebeginning.MypreviousparticipationinEurovision, with thegroup“MyThree”inMalmo in2013, was an invaluableexperience forme, aswas the competition at the 2007 Junior EurovisionSongContest inRotterdam. Frompreparations to performing on the great stage at Eurovision, it’s important to see andexperience everything. I’m thrilled by the professionalismof all the people who participate in this project. However, I still have aheadof me years anddecades of work and e ort to forge a rich career. Apart from winning the Eurovision Song Contest in Israel, what else are among your wishes and hopes? - My dreams are directed towards my family – that’s the most important thing to me. For everything tobe as it shouldand for everyonetobehealthyandhappy.ThenI can also function. Popularity has not changed my priorities. Whichdestinationswouldyougladly travel yo for the rst time? - I would tour all of the world’s best ski resorts. And, to conclude, why is it good tobe Nevena Božović? - Right now, because in a month I’ll be going to the Eurovision Song Contest. And because I eat lots but can’t put on weight [laughs].
