| 81 VUNENE ČARAPE NAJTOPLIJE ZNAMENJE ISTOČNE SRBIJE WOOLLEN SOCKS, THE WARMEST SYMBOL OF EASTERN SERBIA MODERNO, ŠARENO I TOPLO MODERN, COLOURFULANDWARM Danas bi to bili grejači, a nekad su to bile dvopređne čarape. Ištrikane od grube debele vune, pričale su ove čarape, preko ornamenata, priču o ljubavi, radu, životu i nežnosti u selima Timočke Krajine i oko Stare planine. Ko god bi ih nosio, zimovao ne bi Today they’d be warmers, but once upon a time they were doubleknitted socks. Knitted from rough, thick wool, through their ornamental patterns these socks described stories of love, work, life and tenderness in the villages of the Timok Frontier and around the Balkan Mountain. Whoever wore them wouldn’t feel the winter Tekst / Words: Željka Mrđa Fotografije / Photography: Zavičajni muzej Knjaževac, Saša Milutinović Leteći
