| 23 Madrid je neverovatan grad koji ima posebno mesto u srcima miliona ljudi koji ga posećuju svake godine. To je prestonica Španije, dom najstrastvenijih navijača na svetu i najveći grad na Pirinejskom poluostrvu! Postoje mnoge činjenice koje svi znaju o poznatim lokacijama u ovom predivnom gradu, ali čak i grad poznat kao Madrid ima neke svoje tajne! Možda ste znali, a možda i niste! IZNAD SVIH DRUGIH Većina ljudi ne razmišlja o Madridu kada razmišlja o gradovima smeštenim među oblake, a trebalo bi! Madrid se nalazi na najvećoj nadmorskoj visini od svih glavnih gradova u Evropi, na 667 metara! MEDVEĐE VOĆE Zvanični simbol Madrida je El Oso y El Madroño, što znači medved i drvo jagode, i prikazuje medu kako stoji na zadnjim nogama i jede sa drveta. Tu je statua simbola u Puerta de Solu, koja teži više od 20 tona, a simbol je i Fudbalskog kluba Atletiko Madrid. Kažu da su pre mnogo godina medvedi lutali oko Madrida i ponekad ulazili u sam grad. ĐAVO U PARKU Park Retiro u Madridu ima jedinu statuu posvećenu palom anđelu Luciferu. Kip je u parku Fuente del Angel Caido i ima gargojle koji bacaju vodu sa dna. SUNČANI GRAD Osim što ima neke od najdramatičnijih i najlepših zalazaka sunca koje ste ikada videli, Madrid ima više dana bez oblaka nego bilo koji drugi grad u Evropi. Maybe you already know them, but maybe you don’t. ABOVE ALL THE REST Most people don’t consider Madrid when thinking of cities that are perched among the clouds, but they should! Madrid is situated at the highest elevation of any capital in Europe, at 667 metres, or 2,188 feet above sea-level! DEVIL IN THE PARK Madrid’s El Retiro Park has the only statue dedicated to the fallen angel Lucifer. The statue is located at the park’s Fuente del Ángel Caído fountain and has gargoyles that spit water at its base. BEARING FRUIT Madrid’s o cial symbol is ‘El Oso y El Madroño’, which translates as ‘The Bear andThe Strawberry Tree’ and depicts a bear raised on its hind legs eating from the tree. A statue of this symbol is located in the Puerta de Sol square, weighing over 20 tonnes, while the symbol is on the crest of football club Atlético de Madrid. Many centuries ago, bears would roam the outskirts of Madrid and sometimes enter the city limits. DE MADRID AL CIELO Aside from enjoying some of the most dramatic and gorgeous sunsets we’ve ever seen, Madrid enjoys more cloudless days than any other city in Europe, around 250 per year on average. COOL CATS Madrid natives are sometimes referred to as ‘Gatos’, whichmeans cats, andmany attribute this to the idea that everyone sleeps in late, just like cats. However, this nickname is historically linked to an ancient Spanish soldier who climbed the city’s outer walls with such agility that he reminded those watching of a cat.
