The “They are Heroes” closing event, which was held on 2nd March 2022 at Belgrade’s Arte Gallery, presented the 10most prominent individuals: 10 “heroes” who stood out with their selfless deeds in 2021. Speaking on this occasion, Deputy Ambassador of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia, Mateja Norčič Štamcar, addressed those in attendance, while Air Serbia was represented by Captain Marko Otanjac and cabin crewmembers Matea Bokan and Tajana Jelača. “Together, we overcame times that threatened to completely ground us, and we are now spreading our wings to meet new opportunities for further growth – the summer season and numerous new destinations that await us fromApril and June. The “They are heroes” initiative was launched in 2020 by the Delegation of the European Union to Serbia, in cooperation with the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation, with the aim of recognising and rewarding individuals for their examples of courage, solidarity and selflessness. Real heroes are those who have the strength to always put goodness ahead of themselves when that’s most difficult. Given that we’ve been confronted by the world’s biggest challenge over the past two years, every hero deserves to have their story heard far and wide.
