Nikola Milutinov Novi Sad je drugi po veličini grad Srbije, a dugo je predstavljao i centar srpske kulture, zbog čega ga zovu i srpska Atina. Tipičan je centralnoevropski grad, a dominira arhitektura iz 19. veka. Ima više od 20 verskih zajednica i većina ima svoja zdanja, koja su prava remek-dela (poput Crkve imena Marijinog u centru grada ili Novosadske sinagoge). Subotica ima bogatu istoriju sportskih i olimpijskih heroja jer je Đuro Stanić osvojio medalju na prvim modernim olimpijskim igrama 1896. godine. Kalinić is known as an exceptional battler on the court (which is why he is now adored by Fenerbahçe fans, just as he was once worshipped by the Red Star faithful), but also as a man who isn’t afraid to express his own stance, even if it ’s extremely unpopular. Subotica will be on its feet to watch the Basketball World Cup, because the national team’s shirt wil l be worn by a player who emerged on the courts of this city.
