stakes in Alitalia, Air Serbia, Air

Seychelles, Air Berlin, Etihad Re-

gional operated by Darwin Airline,

Jet Airways, and Virgin Australia.

- To become a competitive

global network carrier today is

incredibly challenging – said Mr.

Hogan. - Partnerships allow us to

compete effectively and give us

scale and differentiation, as well

as reducing cost and deliver-

ing major benefits, including

operational cooperation, more

consumer choice and competi-

tion, and job creation.

Speaking to the Summit’s ma-

jor theme of partnership, Mr. Ho-

gan praised the UAE’s pioneering

approach, particularly in the area

of aerospace partnerships.

- In the UAE, we are seeing a

rapidly expanding partnerships

with the world’s biggest aviation

players in aero structures manu-

facturing, engine and component

financing, and maintenance,

repair and overhaul - he said.

Mr. Hogan described how

partnerships are more important

than ever in an increasingly

globalized economy.

- The UAE aims to become

one of the most innovative nations

in the world within seven years

and enter the Global Innovation

Index top 20 by 2021 – he said.

Mr. Hogan cited examples

of Etihad Airways’ work in

developing innovative products

and services, highlighting The

Residence – the world’s only

three-room cabin in commercial

aviation with a dedicated Savoy-

trained butler – on board the

airline’s Airbus A380 fleet.

Emphasizing the importance

of innovation to today’s envi-

ronmentally conscious travelers,

Mr. Hogan also spoke of Etihad

Airways’ work with partners on

the sustainable production of

aviation biofuels in the UAE.

r Berlin je na Međunarodnom sajmu turizma u Berlinu predstavio svoj

premijum proizvod za duge letove. Pažnja je bila usmerena na XL sedišta

u biznis i ekonomskoj klasi, koja pružaju dodatnih 15 cm prostora za noge. Novi

raspored sedišta u svim avionima za duge letove u floti čini da je Er Berlin prevoznik

u kome se sedišta najviše spuštaju u ekonomskoj klasi na prekookeanskim letovima.

U svim avionima Er Berlina dostupno je ukupno 48 XL sedišta.

XL seats in Economy Class

ir Berlin presented its premium long-haul product at the International Travel Trade

Show (ITB) in Berlin. The focus was on Air Berlin’s Business Class and XL seats in

Economy Class that provide 15cm of extra leg room. The new seating configuration on ev-

ery long-haul aircraft in the fleet makes Air Berlin the airline with the largest seat pitch in

Economy Class on Transatlantic flights. A total of 48 XL seats are available on each flight.
