Tel Aviv

Iz sivog u zeleno

Izraelski grad započinje gradnju velikog parka iznad glavne gradske sa-

obraćajnice, auto-puta Ajalon koji prolazi kroz centar grada. „Lebdeći“

urbani park površine 24 hektara, sa zelenilom, šetačkim i biciklističkim

stazama i kafeima (na slici), najambiciozniji je gradski građevinski proje-

kat u istoriji zemlje, a koštaće oko 480 miliona evra. Ideja projekta je da

betonsko sivilo gradskog centra transformiše u zelenu boju.

Tel Aviv

From grey to green

This Israeli city has begun construction of a large park above the city’s

main transport artery, the Ayalon motorway, which passes through

the centre of Tel Aviv. The “hovering” urban park covers an area of 24

hectares, with greenery, walking and cycling paths, and cafés (pictured),

and is the most ambitious urban construction project in the history of the

country, set to cost around €480 million. The project’s idea is to trans-

form the drab concrete city centre into green colours.

kog automobila Formule 1. U dizajnu i gradnji trkačkog

automobila učestvovalo je četrdeset studenata.

Stuttgart

Electric motor faster than F1

A group of German students from the University of

Stuttgart has broken the world record in accelerating a

car from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour. Their electric car,

GreenTeam Formula Student E0711-5 (pictured), is powered

by four electro-motors and reached a speed of 100kph in

1.779 seconds, which is faster than every Formula 1 race car.

The design and construction of the racing car included the

participation of forty students.

Fotografija i modernizacija

Izložba fotografija iz perioda Osmanskog carstva od 1840. do

1914, „Camera Ottomana“, u Istraživačkom centru istanbulskog

Univerziteta Koč, otkriva povezanost fotografije s modernizacijom

društva tog doba. Izloženi su albumi koji su pripadali sultanu, člano-

vima osmanske skupštine, državnim institucijama i velikim kompa-

nijama tog vremena (na snimku). Izložba je otvorena do 19. avgusta.

Photography and modernisation

An exhibition of photographic images from the period of the late

Ottoman Empire, from 1840-1914, entitled “Camera Ottoman”, at

the Research Centre of Istanbul’s Koç University, reveals the relati-

onship between photography and the modernisation of the society

of that period. The exhibition includes albums which belonged to

the Sultan, members of the Ottoman parliament, government insti-

tutions and large companies of the period (pictured). The exhibiti-

on runs until 19
