Najčuveniji stanovnik Uvca, pomenuti retki beloglavi sup, naša je najveća ptica sa rasponom krila od2,8metara. Uloženo je mnogo truda da se ova interesantna vrsta sačuva od izumiranja, pa posetioci danas u rezervatumogu posmatrati ove gigantske ptice kako krstare nebom i hrane svojemlade. Beloglavi sup nije jedina životinja kojoj je pogodovala netaknuta dolina rekeUvac. Centralnumorfološku celinu rezervataUvac predstavlja kanjon istoimene reke sa dolinama njenih pritoka. VodeUvca okružene su kanjonima sa visokim, strmimkrečnjačkim liticama, a posebnu vrednost čine specifični meandri, koji su postali zaštitni znak Uvca i Srbije. Predeo prirodnog rezervata nadaleko je čuven po bogatoj fauni, a naročito po ogromnom staništu ptica. Do sada je na toj teritoriji zabeleženo 130vrsta ptica i mnoge zaštićene vrste ribe, insekata i sisara. Izuzev orlova, ovdemožete sresti vukove,medvede, lisice, jazavce… Neverovatna priroda, pogledi bez kraja i tišina puna tajni nateraće vas da se zaljubite u ovaj raj na Zemlji. The beautiful viewof this unusual river, located in one of Serbia’smost beautiful areas, has led to this place becoming one of the country’smost popular destinations. TheUvac area’smost famous inhabitant, the aforementioned rare griffon vulture, is Serbia’s largest bird, with awingspan of 2.8metres. Great efforts have been exerted to preserve this interesting species and prevent its extinction, and today visitors to this reserve can observe these giant birds as they cruise the sky and feed their young. The griffon vulture isn’t the only species to have found shelter in the pristineUvac valley. The central morphological section of theUvac reserve is the canyon valley of the eponymous river, together with the valleys of its tributaries. The canyon valleywalls, topped by high, sheer limestone cliffs, surround thewaters of theUvac, forming the uniquemeanders that are of special value and have become a trademark of bothUvac andSerbia. The territory of the nature reserve is known far andwide for its rich fauna, particularly its huge bird population. On the territory of this area to date, a total of 130 species of birds have been spotted, aswell asmany protected fish, insects andmammals.
